Since a lot of people might not have considered this idea, here is a brief argument in favor: Parenting is certainly among the most important job in the world, and it is not something that everyone is just naturally good at. We teach every child to do math problems (or at least we attempt to), even though a lot of them will end up doing very little beyond basic arithmetic in their adult lives. Why? Because they might need these skills at some point. And besides, it is good for young brains to be exposed to certain ways of thinking. Couldn’t this same argument be applied to parenting – especially since most people will actually become parents at some point, and parents literally have children’s lives in their hands?

Im behind my child every second of every minute while he is out playing or in class. Am I right? or is it OK to turn my back for a second and talk to other parents and/or the teacher… in a class room setting like this.. I see other mothers who just let their kids roam around but I dont know I feel uneasy if Im not hovering over my child making sure he’s ok

Im doing this because I know its important for my son’s social skills.
Yet I havent had a social life since I found out i was having a baby.. Here I am nearly 3 years later trying to socialize and Im the one who needs social skills

i’m not just talking about a birthing class i’m talking about a class that shows you how to parent and tell you how to act in cases of divorce and separation so that the child is put first and you put your own feels aside. what should be taught at this class?
906,000 infants are abused each year that is why i ask. wouldn’t a parenting class prevent some of this abuse.
