The other night I accidentaly threw out a bunch of one of my boys drawings and colorings-he was NOT happy. It took awhile to convince him, that mommy throwing out his “presents” for us, really was accidental. I just assumed it was scraps of paper they’d been cutting up again. Oops!

I am wondering about something. My wife’s half sister is a lesbian and has a child with her partner. Now my MIL says that her daughter is more the “mom” and her partner is more the “dad”. That got me thinking about the roles of mom and dad and if there are certain traits assigned to these roles.
I am wondering because it seems there is a strong trend (led by women) to make both parenting roles to be alike so that both mother and father pretty much do the same thing.
