If I wanted to become a foster parent, are classes mandatory?

I’ve asked several people. Some say that 8 to 12 classes are mandatory before becoming a foster parent. Others say that I won’t have to take them. Please help.

    i think some are madatory and even if there not then its best to go

    i am a foster dad and i had to take manny classes so yes they are very important to go
