My parents gave a decent effort to make me a a good person, and I did not turn out the best person ever, not even close. But I think to myself, what in gods name would have happened if they didn’t put in the effort they did? But the answer is clear, for we have exapmple of such walking all over our towns and cities. It is hear breaking.

then again, if you (well… if one) cant look past the made mistakes, its not the biggest problems. bfainfarts happen, its life. they will never be forgotten but will eventually be forgiven. misteeq has a point, you speak with a bitterness of one.

because, you practice what you preach, if you cheat in your marriage thats the chance you take, you may produce illegtimate kids, if you man enough to cheat be man enough to take care of the product, or shut up.

Words have power because of the knowledge behind them. It doesn’t REQUIRE a second or third party or some seperate entity to give those words power. Not always.
You are right to say not to let words CONTROL you but ignoring them simply because they are ‘just words’ is not wise.

Words only have as much power as you give them. If you let words control you they will ruin you. Be passive and/or learn from them and you’ll live healthier i’m sure.

If words are just ‘words’ then why do we teach people to be careful of what they say.
Words may not cause physical damage but they can be powerful.

Man, that is very inspiration what you wrote on your comment. That is another example of what Dr. Cosby was stating in his book, “Come On People.” Your family overcame so many things, and never made no excuses.

In the world I live in, curse words are important for their use with the inarticulate
majority. As for kids, their natural rebellious behavior is normally why their cursing, the real test is how fast they process their own impulses. However The man who figured out dna would tell you that race plays a big part in mental capacity, therefore ebonics…etc rant

meh i kinda get where ur coming from, but i think its more important for people to judge others not by how they talk or how they look, but by what they can deliver. Words are only as powerful as we make them, fuck is just a word and if i was the big man in an office space i wouldn’t care how my employees talked as long as they could deliver

With children, it betays an unconcerned parent. Parents are obligated to teach their children how to function, otherwise, they will not LEARN to function in society. If you would not expect to hear profane language in a professional environment, then train a child to function in such an environment. But again, you’ll likely not understand. poor thing…

Honestly, if you have to ask, then it is seriously unlikely that you would understand the answer. But I’ll try: it is obscene, and to use obscene language projects lower intelligence (even if one is intelligent, using stock words reserved fo profane communication makes one appear less intelluignet). It implies a lack of expressive vocabulary, even if thats not truly the case. Even the lowest IQ’s possess osbcene words in their vocabulary, andfrequent use conveys this as the case.

It takes away intelligence from the conversation and replaces it with shock value. And in our society both can not exist in the same realm with each other.
I hope my theory helped out!

This is video really hits home. I’ve met many parents that shouldn’t be parents. I’ve seen many teenage girls who had babies before they were a freshman in high school, and their personality are still children. Parents should definitely teach their children morals and life lessons instilled in them.

my grandma had 15 kids, they were poor. and i know because i traveled the world all my life and i’ve seen poor. my mother, now a diplomat, didn’t own shoes till she was in the 6th grade. however, all kids had to have straight A’s, get up and do farm chores, take care of the babies, with 15 kids some were grown while some were still babies of course. they all grew up to be doctors and lawyers, ministers, politicians. not one is destitute or on drugs. and i’m black.

I know lots of white parents with the same problem. They buy their kids loads of stuff and the kids think they’re grown-up.
The cure for boredom is things like family dinners, or doing stuff with your parents. If you watch the SUPERNANNY series, you’ll see all these fathers who don’t want to do anything with their kids. They think it’s beneath them.

You caould say that about any religion. Muslims killing one another in order to be the next leader of the religion that teaches peace and love. That sounds a little messed up.
