Do you think David Hasselhoff’s daughter was parenting him- and is that okay?

kwbfirst asked:

There are so many cases today of children parenting parents. Is this ever okay? For example, if parents have problems with alcohol, drugs, etc., should teenagers step in and take responsibility for their parent?

i think it is only ok to allow your child to parent you is if you are old and gray. it is not fair to make the child grow up too fast because of your addictions

Well, it’s sorta ok. Parents should be more responsible but we also make mistakes too. In this case, she showed her father exactly what he is like when he is drunk. It could be just the wake up call he needs to overcome his drinking problem. If this happened to me, I would be deeply ashamed that my child had to be the parent. On the other hand, I would also be very grateful that my child held up a mirror to my face and showed me what life is like for her to live with my addiction.
