I too was raised by a single mother who was too frustrated with life to effectively parent. She is a wonderful woman, but she dropped the ball. Children need to see compromise and that can only come from having two parents in the household. One parent ruling isn't effective. Also, young girls need to learn how to relate to men in a positive, non-sexual way. A father can teach you that. Wow…I stumbled upon your blog by pure search and WOW.

My mother is an amazing mother..seriously. She is there for me 100% and everyone can tell. BUT my dad is in another state with his wife and children. I need a male role in my life. I too lost my virginity at 14 and into alot of stuff I shouldnt be. I still would been a teen and make mistakes but if I had a dad I would have made better choices and had a balance in my life.
