what do you think of this parenting style?

a parent who spoils their adult child living at home. gives him everything he wants.is strict about alot of things. wont let him be responsible. when the child asks to have some responsibility the parent says ” we are still alive so for niow you dont need to be responsible, when we are gone you can ” so, by the time the parents are gone,the child will be left with nothing. i mean his parents fail to tech him responsibility after all..thoughts?
